We are long time rvers, and until now have always towed a car. We now have a new class C and plan not to tow.
Next weekend we are attending an event in Kissimee Fl at Osceloa Heritage Park, A huge venue that has a rodeo arena and a convention building.
My question is what is the law regarding the availability of handicap RV sites? They have three areas for rv hookups. All a great distance from the convention center.
I am worried our site will be too far to walk.
I guess we can invest in mobility scooters.
But other similar places we have visited and camped have a few handicap rv sites very close to the event building.

thanks

We see many campgrounds with handicapped sites, usually close to the restroom and some are either concrete or paved for handicap transport purposes. Although we have a handicap tag, we try to use these sites as a last resort, as there are many that need them more than we do. Also, they are usually closer to the restrooms, which is usually a higher traffic area.

You may want to reconsider your decision not to tow if it is an option. I would suspect you will find many places that provide handicap parking but which is not sized for a motorhome. The mobility scooter idea may be a good one.

I ran into this trying to park my MH at a race track in Ct. in Handicap parking. It is governed by the state according to the disability act. The size or the type of vehicle is not mentioned in the Disability Act. The state sent someone to look the place over and they wanted to sue the track at not cost to me, I did not do that. From then on I just parked there. This is a Handicap parking area not a campground. Check with police first which I also did.

That's an interesting question. I've never noticed handicapped camp sites. But, I wasn't looking.

Did you look up the "Americans with Disabilities Act?" Maybe that will furnish an answer
Or, contact the local municipality/county where the campground is located. Maybe they have an answer.

I think, businesses are required to have handicapped parking available as close as possible to the entrance.
But, a campground may be different.

Are the handicapped sites where you are going close to the showers/toilets? Possibly, that is the requirement for campgrounds.
