Help me understand the flaws with these "features"

Ours has the television that raises and lowers. We use it both ways. Actually, the counter space with the television raised is just as much as it is when it's lowered with ours. The front of ours has shelves and the sound system. Others have fireplaces in this spot. So, actually, we do have storage in front of the television cabinet. Ours is at the back window, there is absolutely no water near it. No comment on the refrigerator. Ours is not in a slide.
