HELP! Tow Bar

You will also want a braking system.

Take a look at the Ready Brake towbar with it's included braking system. Your total expenditure will probably be the same or less as these used towbars plus a braking system, and you will have a HD towbar AND a braking system.

All would work but I would recommend no. 1, or no. 2 if your Frontier weighs less than 5000lbs. Then I would buy new base plate mountings for your truck. If you're still unsure and have a Camping World or similar supplier nearby, perhaps you should visit them and explain what you think you need and have them make their recommendations. You can still find used on CL or eBay if you want.

Hello, # 1 is a better unit and likely better for towing a frontier because I believe it has a higher weight rating. I have the number 2 unit which works fine for towing my Nissan Versa which is less than 3,000 lbs. You should get a base plate specifically made for that Frontier and you might find one on Ebay or from an RV dealer in your area. I live in Canada but bought all my towing equipment from Camping Connection in Kissimmee, Florida. You can also buy bolt locks rather than pins to attach your tow bar to the MH to make sure no one walks away with your towing equipment while you are away. You might also want to check your state regulations about auxiliary towing equipment for the Nissan. You may need a Blue Ox Patriot, Brake Buddy or similar system. Good luck.

We use #2, have drug 2 different toads with it all over the US, at least 70,000 miles without any trouble. Had a couple wanted to see how easy it was to connect, DW and I showed off, had toad attached checked and ready to go in 35 seconds. Normally a bit longer, generally less than 5 minutes. 4000 lb toad.

#3 is the towbar I used for many years on various Jeeps. It does EXACTLY the same job as the more expensive towbars, and does it well. I never found it all that difficult to hook up or unhook. In fact, I frequently did both by myself!
Now, I have a fancy towbar with telescoping arms, that folds up on the front of the truck, and has a 2 inch ball hitch. I don't find it all that much easier to use than the old fixed arm towbar.
But, that's just me, and everybody knows I am weird.
The old towbar was rated at 5000 lbs. and the Roadmaster is rated at 6000 lbs. which is probably better for towing the truck.
At least, that is the opinion of the "weight police".
Any of the three pictured towbars will do the job. Personally, I would rather have the ball hitch, but some people like the receiver mount things. Some people have had problems with the swivel on them breaking, but that is apparently rather rare.

yes. I think you'll find that a towbar that remains attached to the MH's hitch receiver and connects to the toad via base plates installed on the toad will be the easiest to deal with.

Are the ones pictured here like that? Don't mean to be dense but I'm just an ignorant old woman regarding this stuff. LOL.

yes, #2. the long square piece slips into the receiver on the MH and is secured with a locking pin. the two aluminum arms extend and and pivot to connect to two points on your toad and are locked in place with locking pins. when not towing the towbar remains attached to the MH and simply swivels/pivots up and out of the way.
