Anyone know if there are RV Resorts in the sun belt states like The Great Outdoors in Titusville,Florida where you own your site that has a small home and pad with full hookups, and you can rent only the pad when we are traveling around this wonderful country of ours.
  • What is the sunbelt to you? East of the Mississippi I've found complexes of home like this as far north as Tennessee and all the way to the Gulf Coast and in Florida. Between the Mississippi and Rockies, starting between Dallas and Austin, south to the Rio Grande.

Most are ownership communities, not resorts with rentals.

Many communities will also allow you to build a RV garage, but most building codes do not allow you to live in the RV permanently. It can be difficult to write a building code that allows this and still prevents lapse of the neighborhood into a trailer park, thus you more often find the RV ports in planned communities where the discipline comes from a property-owners association or other types of contractual covenants.
  • Heritage Motorcoach Resort and Marina in Orange Beach, AL.

Outdoor Resorts of America is similar. We've stayed in their parks at Hilton Head and Chokoloskee Island, Fl.
  • Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in Polk City FL. Don't know what you have. It's for Class A only. Very nice, but pricey. Wilderness RV Resort in Silver Springs FL
Mt. Olive Shores North in Polk City FL mostly has homes with RV ports, but I think you can buy the lot, put a casita on it, and just use it for your RV. Not sure how active a rental pool would be in there or who, if anyone, manages it.
  • There are many of those in AZ. We haven't been to check them out, but many Fulltimers buy Casitas and it still has room for an RV or 2. I see ads all the time for RV Lot sales.

We bought our RVL in GA via RVParkStore. Check out some of those for sale in Yuma. Includes Photos most of the time.
  • Check the Escapees parks, they are like you described but you have to be a member.
