How do you feel about those dashboard placards

I wonder how some people would react if they had been alive back when your vehicle registration was required by law to be displayed in a clear holder wrapped around the steering column or on the visor?
I remember it well. Nobody ever had any problems with it.
Of course, it IS a "different world" these days. NOT necessarily a better one, either!
