Hurricane Florence Evacuation

My niece is living in her TT in the New Bern area of North Carolina. She wants to pull her TT out and head in-land until the hurricane passes. We will go down and tow her TT and put her Harley in the bed of our truck while she drives her car. How far inland should we come?
We are thinking about the Tarboro, NC area. It's about 75 miles inland. Is that far enough?

We are in E TN near Gatlinburg for a bluegrass festival. Figuring on the remnants dropping possibly a good amount of rain. No flood worries where we are. May just stay put & let it all go by.

We arrived back in the mountains of far southwest Virginia (just north of Bristol) about 3:30 this morning.

Given the choice for free camping, I’d head to the Atlanta Speedway. Charlotte Motor and Rock Hill areas may get 5” of rain. No fun being in an RV with that kind of rain in the forecast.

Bristol Motor Speedway opening campgrounds. I think I heard FREE on the news but sounds not likely.

If you are looking for somewhere to go inland,the city of Rock Hill, SC is opening RV lots next to the BMX track for fee. Charlotte Motor Speedway is doing the same.

We pour 5 gallon cans into it.

When it's neither hurricane nor blizzard season, we use the gas to power our tractor and other equipment, and then fill it back up again. Let's us keep the supply fresh. And we use Stabil as well.

The Class A we had (an '02, but can't remember the brand) was equipped with a built in generator that took its gas from the vehicle's tank. It had a higher suction inlet than the RV's fuel pump, so the genny couldn't run the tank dry.

For comparison on the weather, our highest wind speed yesterday was 10 knots and we got 0.2" rain (the first for several weeks). So much for the nickname "The great Northwet". We're in Anacortes, which is on Fidalgo Island, off the northern coast of Washington State. It's the only one of the San Juan Islands with road access to the mainland.

The only downside is the risk of earthquakes (we've had one minor one in the 49 years we've been here, centered about 150 miles to the south) and volcanic eruptions. Mount Baker is about 60 miles away, Rainier about 150. Both are visble from the area, but neither has had a big eruption while we've lived here.

There's a wheeled gas caddy with hose and nozzle called a "Flo 'n Go" that will hold 14+ gallons - very popular with the power boating crowd

My son has one for his boat. Pretty slick
