Odd how high it is riding on the trailer axle.

And this is unusual how? I'm not being snarky, just commenting on how common this kind of thing is. I see setups like this at least once a week.

A couple of weeks ago on my way to work there was a traffic jam. It was caused by a Kia Soul flipped on it's side. It was towing a double axle travel trailer. The safety chains were still hooked up but the tongue was off the ball. No WDH that I could see. My phone was in my pocket and I didn't want to cause another problem by trying to take a photo. But I wish I had been able to because it was one of those, "Huh? Seriously?" kind of things.

Not too odd. Looks like they flipped the axle, however it does seem like perhaps they lifted it as well.

Yup, pretty common... This just happened to be the one time I was at a light so could safely take a picture..

You should see the rigs heading up to Burning Man or Night in the Country..

If I remember correctly the ford explorers have air bags instead of springs. Looks like the air bags aren't compensating for the tongue weight.

Perhaps we should have a 'towing hall of shame' thread.

Not that these pics are that terrible, seems unsafe to me.. However I'd bet a thread devoted to the subject would turn up all sorts of crazy getups...

Goes in my "chains dragging" category.

I wonder how his steering responds going over bumps or driving on rough terrain.

It's interesting that nobody has mentioned the fact that the trailer wheels are back near the crown of the road, the TV's rear wheels are in the gutter, and the TV's front wheels are up the incline into the parking lot or next lane. This will exaggerate any angle at the hitch. The rig does seem to be hitch-heavy, but not as severely as perception might indicate.
