Is the level ok?

is the level of my trailer ok? It's not pointing upwards?

  • They say that if you can comfortably sleep in it, then it's level enough. I'm not sure I could comfortably sleep in it in the first picture?

    Bill
  • Measure the truck from bumper to ground (on flat ground) in the four corners without the trailer attached.
    Measure again with it hitched.
If the back end of the truck is down farther than the front, go up a link on the torsion bars.
The bars should transfer enough weight to the front to cause all 4 corners to sink roughly the same amount, this is what improves traction and control.
If the torsion bars are new, you will likely need to go up a link or two in the first few thousand miles.
If this causes the trailer to look nose high, you may need to lower the shank.
  • They make curved levels to mount on the outside where you can see them. Mine are inside, beside the drivers seat where i can see them while operating the jacks. However, the levels I had on a satellite mount froze and broke when left outside during the winter. I don't know about the ones made for ourside RVs. They may have antifreeze in them.
  • Don't obsess over it. Looks plenty close enough to me.
Mine can be uncomfortably off-level and everything still works.
I think the gas powered fridge is the first to act up.
  • Impossible to tell from that angle. You need to be back far enough to show the whole rig.
  • It looks like it's standing on end. Oh, that's the oversize photo.
  • It looks good! It's easy enough to check though, just use a level. My TT has has several places on the outside where you can place a small leve. If yours doesn't, use a door frame or the floor of the TT itself. Also, check your ground clearance on the rear end of your TT. On my previous unit I needed to travel nose down just a bit to keep the rear end from scraping at every gas station. Some here would disagree with that but I had the unit 20 years and it was a survival move. New TT! I ride level! Best of luck and enjoy!!!
