- westendExplorerLexel brand is a non-acrylic, non-silicone polymer sealant, somewhat akin to Geocel Proflex. I buy Geocel construction tripolymer sealant at a local roofing distributor. It is almost identical to Proflex.
- DrewEExplorer IIOSI Quad is another polyurethane-based sealant that is (or seems to me to be) generally similar to Geocel ProFlex and is readily available at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. I've used it with so far decent results on my RV; any problems have been due to surface preparation, or rather not enough of it.
- loggenrockExplorerGood topic! I need a sealant for the shower base and shower door track - silicone stuff just peels off... suggestions? ST

Clean all of the surfaces to be sealed with a caulk removing paste, followed by a solvent. Chances are, you have a residual film of silicone still on the surfaces and that's why the bond is failing.

IMO, the polymer sealants mentioned are superior to silicone in these applications. Lexel would be my choice, I know it comes in clear. - MrWizardModeratorwhite "polyurethane" generic at home depot, might have to look in the roofing dept
or buy the 3M marine grade, costs more dollars - mobeewanExplorerX2 on the OSI Quad. If you have an Ace Hardware near you they may have the Proflex. I have purchased it at Ace here.
- B_O__PlentyExplorer III have also used Quad with very good results.
