One thing that does seem to get them excited is LOTS of negative e-mail. A couple of organizations I belong to have found out that a flood of e-mail on a particular subject DOES seem to have an effect. I'm talking about e-mail to any and all congress members that you can get an e-mail address for. But it takes a lot of organization to get enough people to do it. I have addresses for a good number, and send a lot of email. If nothing else except for the pest affect. Most never gets to the person, just handled by staff on a routine basis, but it gives them something to make them feel important, and keeps them out of trouble. Beware the old Far-- with too much time and a computer!
