I put mine groove down, figured it would channel the propane better. Works fine. Neat little item.
That's what I figured. I saw a youtube video and the guy had the grooves upward. I would think that the stone look on the other side would be better represented upward, otherwise it could just be smooth. When I received it, it was in bubble wrap and the grooves were up and the instructions did not indicate either way. I emailed Camco also, will see what they say as well.
