"You consciously did that to “save the earth”???"
Yep, sure did ... and to "save our long-term sanity".
The DW and myself bought raw land and built/wired/plumbed/HVACed our home on it. We also trenched 200-300 ft and laid the pipe to the spring, buried large guage wires from a power pole for 200 amp electrical service, and etc..
HOWEVER, it's becoming more and more impossible to do stuff like this with the population exploding everywhere.
BTW #1 - I do say this publicly ... to help folks maybe think more clearly about other lifestyle choices they might want to consider. In fact, we have younger couple relatives that have followed suit after trying suburbia/apartment life first ... and then following what I described that both ourselves and my BL did in developing our homes.
BTW # 2 - All in our current circle of relatives have stopped at two children or less.
Remember what the RV'ing goal is ... to be able to spontaneously camp at the end of the day in a pristine place with no reservations. :C
