Look twice before just pulling on through !

Hope this is the right place to put this ?!

Was setting at a red light today and across the street I see this guy pull up to the covered car wash place in his Class A get out walk to the side look up then get inside an proceed to pull on under the covered portion and took out his vent cover and looked like to be one of those new style T looking antenna's that are stationary !
You would think when he first hit the vent cover he would have stopped , NOPE kept right on another couple feet and there went the T looking antenna folding (braking) back !

I'm sure that's going to be a costly expense !!

Then two lights later I come up on another Class A MH in the slow lane turn his signal on and wanting to change lanes into the lane I along with 6 other cars are occupying . I was the 6th one back he's lined up in the middle of us, after about 200 ft he just starts coming on over everybody is locking it up cutting over into the center turn lane etc.
He just keeps going like nobody was there ,drove about 2 miles in that lane then switched back into the lane he was in in the first place and then turned off.
Some people you just watch and scratch your head thinking what were they thinking ??

One more time; my post as I wrote it orignally;

For me, I look in my mirrors, turn on my signal, stop looking in the mirrors, count to 6 and move over. I make sure there is plenty of time in that six count for that driver to maintain his position for me to move over. If he chooses to take my turn signal as a challenge, then GAME ON!

As you can see, I originally did say that I make sure there is plenty of time. Time is room. Room is time.

Please, go back and check my original post.

And to your reply; sure sounds to me like you wanna play! Ha! Bully? Not me.

What... you trump everybody because you turn your turnsignal on , now all hale bow to you !
Like I answered old bisquick wise comment,, I know what its like to be in a bigger rig so had I been #2 or #3 car in line when the idiot tried to take out the line of cars coming on over like he did. I would have slowed up and let him over... BUT Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

I can't count the times some idiot right along side or just a half a car length along side in front of us turns on their TS speeds up just enough to clear our bumper cut over in front of us then slams on the brakes and turns and there ain't a single car behind us where as this idiot could have just slowed up and pulled in behind us then did their turn !

Really ,turn your turnsignal on count to 6 and go over now its a challenge if they don't get out of your way. Wow...

And people wonder why there is so much road rage !

If you are going to post my handle at least you could copy it correctly.....

It is 'Old-BISCUIT'. Pay attention like one should when driving. Simple.

And maybe you need to re-read and pay attention/comprehend the posts before you too "quickly accuse and assume"
Hence my little dig back at you calling you Old Bisquick instead of Old Biscuit ๐Ÿ˜‰

My favorites are people that start coming over, then turn on the signal and then finally look. By the time they realize that there is something over there, they are half way in the next lane.

The other is having someone cut you off to make a turn when there is nothing behind you. They are in such a rush that they couldn't possibly get behind you and make the turn safely.

I just made the run from Denver to Dallas Thursday and Friday. had to slam on the brakes a few times and watched one guy come screaming down a on ramp, nearly rear end the car in the right lane as he cut me off in the left to the point that he over shot the lane and the shoulder. He ran down the edge of the median for a split second before yanking it back and almost side swiped a semi before getting it settled down and off he went.

You saw the turn signal......why didn't you just let him pull in front of you?

I heartily agree. When you want to change lanes in these Metro areas with a coach and toad and after signaling and signaling and the brain deads behind you don't get the message moving on over wakes them up and helps you achieve the needed results. If after that you find that you screwed up and need to move back to the previous lane. then do it. Probably have to use the same tactics again as it'll be the same brain dead crowd still behind you. They are the same bunch that feels entitled to deny you the use of THEIR lane. The road belongs to all the drivers and once in a while some assertive driving practices are called for. While we are at it we need to recognize the driver who caught on to what you needed to do and who yields so you can make a smooth change. They are out there too and show up ever now and then.

You cherry picked and mus-interpret that out of the whole process of changing lanes and made it sound like all I do is turn on turn signal and go. What??!!
What about everything else I did before the turn signal? What about after the turn signal? Just forget that ever happens and just reduced it to 'turn on signal and go'.

I said I check for clearance. There was plenty. I turn on my turn signal, wait 6 seconds, plenty of time for them to see my intent.
You read that as half a car length, a cut-off and slamming on the brakes.
If there's road rage, it's self induced! Ha!

I can't make sense of Bob/Olallawa's reply;
Game on? Talks cheap on the net...It won't be pretty when the moving stops if you try that******on some people.

Are you saying I am just wishing or making this up? No, I'm not. I look, enough room, I signal, enough time to register to the other driver, I change lanes. The other driver thinks it's a challenge? Game ON!! It is what it is. If "some people" see my lane change as "that******on some people", then that is THIER problem. Not mine.

That's the problem with just reading words and not seeing the face of the person and or their expression's ?
Yes I read it as you turn on your signal count 6 and then come on over.
But obviously you didn't mean it that way but like you said yes we interpreted that way.
I guess just like old bisquick interpreted in his reply to me "why didn't I let the guy in" I wasn't the one up along side him ,I was in the back watching it thinking what the heck is this jerk doing!

Its all good and we all need to maybe reread some posts before replying.
But then again some are just out there no matter how you read it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I either don't signal, or signal, and quit looking. Why would I want to see the look of terror on his face when he realizes I'm not bluffing when I indicated I wanted to come over.

Two way radios do not require your full attention. First, there is no connection to be lost. Second, most people using a CB or ham radio are driving or talking to someone who may be driving. Life comes first and the conversation is second. Everybody assumes you are busy driving when the conversation pauses. In New Jersey Amateur Radio operators are exempt from the states handheld device law for that reason.

See all kinds of offensive behaviors.
For years, now the cellphone, has been number one ingredient in many hwy collisions, cut offs and so on. Increasingly, it seems, Semi Drivers weaving and up and down on the pedal, as you get past them yo use the cellphone snugged against their ear. They paid better attention with the CB, for some reason.
Women and men change lanes and up and down on the pedal, don't use their mirrors, block traffic at ten under, nearly sideswipe you or others, and drive aggressively with the cell next to their ear or on the or near the steering wheel texting..
I try to keep a long interval between cars in front and back and side if I can but invariably some little Honda etc will jump right in and ride the car in front and I back off and again and again. doesn't matter what speed I'm at they will fly up and cut your off left or right lane and slow down.
It's not the Mercs or BMWs or Porches usually but little Celicas etc with women driving with the cellphone stuck on their ear.
I bet I could keep this up the rest of the night and not cover half the stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚

I use that trick often when a car is hanging on my left rear corner. As soon as he/she makes their move I turn off the blinka.... (ok, blinker to those not from New England)

They have been doing that for years here in Ca only merging onto the freeway at 45-55.

Exactly! They hit the freeway on ramp at 45 tops, then, once they are all nice and settled down on the freeway, hit the gas and tailgate the guy in front of them if they are doing anything less than 80 mph.

The clear majority of these drivers are female, young and in the process of putting on their eye make-up in their mirror while merging onto the freeway. My wife refuses to drive anywhere near a high school in the morning or afternoon when school starts or is let out. She's the one who pointed out to me that they all seem to be young girl drivers.
