Looking for a comfy chair..

I can recommend Brad and Hall furniture in Elkhart. We purchased a Lafer "Kiri" chair from them more than 13 years ago and it is still in use today with no visible wear or mechanical failure.

It is a very comfortable chair that I use every day. It replaced a fairly large upholstered recliner that came with the trailer when new. I like it because it does not take up a lot of room yet it swivels and reclines completely in addition to being comfortable for either sitting or sleeping. :)


It fits through the door easily and does not take up much room in the trailer. I suspect it will fit your requirements perfectly and would fit right in with the Airstream "look".:)

The Lafer chair also comes in other models. It is a bit pricey but was well worth the money in my opinion.

Living room right at the front.
Full length sofa right across the front window.
Then about 6 x 8’ of floor.
Then the kitchen starts aft of that.

Not too much space.
Its an airstream with no bump outs.

Go to your local furniture stores and shop around. Measure what will fit in the RV and so you can measure at the store.
Most all backs come off recliners. Thats so shipping them takes up less room.

A photo of the area/space you've got to work with would help.

We have 2 Best recliners (back comes off) that we bought to replace one of the two sofas in our Phaeton. 14 years later, they are still working. Use them every day. Comfy for both of us which is a miracle since I'm 5' and DH is 6'2". Comfy to sit or to push back and nap.

Lazy Boy wall hugger recliner

In our last fifth wheel, we purchased a recliner at IKEA. It was EXACTLY 28" wide and fit through the door with about 1/16" to spare. Worked perfectly.

On Many large recliners you can remove back for moving it. There’s usually a Velcro flap near bottom of back. Lift it up and there will be a few screws or threaded knobs to remove. The back then just lifts up. Reverse when in place.
