Looking for a grill

Welp I guess it's time for me to bite down and get the Q 100 and an RVQ hose.

I had forgotten our coach had the quick disconnect until I noticed it yesterday.
Of course the DW said "you didn't know that was there?...remember the walk thru the guy pointed it out!"

I have the Weber Q 100 and love it! Even I can move it around.

I have a Weber Q120. I took off the regulator and installed a quick connect for use where the standard (junky) RVQ was. If you have an RVQ laying around, use the quick connect from that if it came with one. Works great!

We have a Weber Q-220 and love it. It's a bit heavy if you try carrying it with the cast-iron grill plate still inside. I didn't like the idea of a long flex hose with full tank pressure in it. I'd also heard that some folks have had problems with the sensitivity of a whole-rig sized regulator when only using small flow rates for the grill.

I didn't want to haul a big 20-lb tank either. I solved the issue by getting a "squatty" 10-lb tank that has the same base ring size as a 20-pounder. I got a "stabilizing base ring" at Camping World and bolted it to the floor of an outside stow-bin. The tank is a very snug fit and doesn't seem to need additional tie-downs.

The only snag with the Q-220 is that it's about 3/4" too tall to put in the stow-bins of our MH, so I have to take the lid off every time I put the grill away. Not a big deal, with the hinge pins it has. We will be getting the fold-up cart for it before our next trip as we found a couple of CG's that wouldn't allow grills on the picnic table.

If you taking high pressure off your tanks, what you actually want is the Extend-A-Flow kit, not the Extend-A-Stay; two very different setups. The Extend A Flow has the Tee that installs to your tank, and then you attach the hose. Used one for about 9 years with my Weber Q and gave it away when I sold the trailer.

Another vote for weberQ in whatever size you like. 100 here, some like the larger 200 series. All aluminum except the grate, rounded bottom makes a quick wipeout after it cool easy to store clean, disposable/replaceable drip tray liners, accessories at most big box stores made it a no brainer for me. Easily modifable to run off bulk tanks (hose), 1 lb tanks as it is, or low pressure with the proper Quick Connect adaptors make it one of, if not THE most popular grill for RVers.

Others have made the same mod to a Coleman Roadtrip Grill. I've been using a Roadtrip since 2002, off of an Extend-a-Stay fitting. Just this year, I've had to replace the grill grates due to wear. The grill continues to function flawlessly. I have one of the heavier duty (blue) Roadtrip, not the red LXE version.
