Cobb Grill

Just got a Cobb grill. Took it on last camping trip. Love it! Any other Cobbers out there?

Have not used a Cobb but have read a lot of good stuff about 'em on this forum over the years. Seems like everybody loves 'em.
  • Must be me. I bought one a few years ago and gave it to Goodwill. Couldn't get it to do much for me.
  • We have use a Cobb for a few years now. As a grill it can be weak. We like to do chicken pieces in it and it works very well for that purpose. We have also done half a small turkey for Thanksgiving.

We carry it and use it, its good for smoking, just takes some time and a few extra coals.

    Enjoy.

  • Just got mine last week. Having a little trouble getting/keeping the heat high enough.

My latest "discovery" for higher/longer heat is hardwood lump charcoal. I'm still in the experimental stage, but I'm hopeful I did not waste a BIG bunch o' bucks!

I am not afraid to put some extra charcoal in it. Give it a chance to come up to temperature. Do not lift the lid unless you absolutely must. We have not used it in cold weather, could be a problem.

    Good Luck.
