Mat rant

What is it with people & their mats. I have no problem when the site is dirt or gravel. Mats are fine in such a situation but why do people put mats ontop of grass? All it takes is a couple of days & they have killed the grass underneath & the next site user is faced with a mucky mess outside of their door. Have a little thought for the next person.

We use the light weight woven plastic mats, had a few campgrounds that didn't allow them because of grass... so just followed the rules like everything else.

I like using them as most places we have stayed at have the crushed stone put down which is not easy on bare feet, especially when going out in the middle of the night to do X,YorZ :C

We use an AstroTurf door mat inside. Wipes off all the crud and easy to clean...

My rant is for the people that donโ€™t use one. I would never buy your RV when itโ€™s time for you to sell it because of all the mess you bring in with you! A mat would make it an easier sell becaus the inside wouldnโ€™t look like a forest floor!!!

So what's that say for a person who posts neither way, but just acts as a spacer between posts.

It could say the same thing, but in reality this site is mostly a time killer when Iโ€™m on the throne, lol. But itโ€™s like crack, canโ€™t put it down because of the hilarity of threads like this.
Cheers!

Over a great many years of camping...always used a mat, in both sites of grass and without. Never killed the grass, never had any park express a mat restriction, never even thought of this issue until reading this โ€œrantโ€. But then again, Iโ€™m a grown man and donโ€™t run around looking for things to complain about. If the previous occupant of my campsite killed the grass, then boohoo...Iโ€™m not there long enough to let that ruin my trip.

I posted earlier in this thread justifying using mats when boondocking in the dirt ... and I definitely DO NOT have too much time on my hands cuz I'm only about 1/4th of the way through washing - and maybe waxing - the RV.

In addition to the interior floors, I sure wish that mats kept dirt off the coach's exterior too. Boy-o-Boy, what a back-breaking joint-stressing job! :E and ๐Ÿ˜ž

22 foot class B+/C- so no room for a mat.
Made a small rug for the step.
