Medicine Cabinet (Or lack thereof)

The medicine cabinet in mine is screwed into the wall stud.
Take out the mirror, find the stud and bolt one on.
Mine is a light plastic one, no weight, so strain.

Take out the mirror. Find a medicine cabinet that will fit in the area and has a mirror on the door.

Make sure it has / you can fit a strong latch so it won't come open on the road.

One thing I hate about many RV's is a medicine cabinet that protrudes out above a tiny sink. Just try to wet or wash your face without bumping your head into the stupid thing. Many RV's have few or no studs in the outside wall, the dealer gave you good advice. If you can find an interior wall with two available studs, that would be best. Hanging a multi-pocket bag might be a crude option.

Are there other cabinets in the bath area that you are considering as linen cabinets or storage for bathroom supplies? A medicine cabinet doesn't need to be behind a mirror over the sink.

Adequate storage in particular places was a major factor in our RV shopping. No cabinets in the bathroom would have been a deal breaker for us.

Other than replacing the mirror with a cabinet, it looks like there's a lot of wall space above the toilet for nice tall cabinets. However, you'd really have to be careful when opening a door so something doesn't fall into the toilet. You'd have to get into the habit of keeping the toilet seat down. Especially be careful after travel and opening the door for the first time. The best thing to do if you install a cabinet is to find some plastic containers that would fit on the shelves to contain things so they don't tip over. They wouldn't have to have lids... just to keep bottles upright or shaving or whatever, grouped together. Then pull out the container & take it to the vanity for use.

We're in the same boat...trailer. Am thinking of installing one over the head for fear of facial collision with one over the sink. I was looking at one from West Marine, but it's kind of pricey. We may go to Lowe's , buy a small one and remove the back to save weight. Will probably "L" bracket it to the studs using #8 sheet metal screws and replace the glass shelves with Lexan.

It works for me in my 1983 vintage 24' Class C. I eliminated the bottom most shelf and it straddles the commode and is secured to the forward bulkhead. I store my bath towels and washcloths on it mainly, not medicine. I use the cabinet above the head and shelving for first aid supplies/medicine.

We have a marine bath and no medicine cabinet, no mirror either for that matter! We do have a small upper cabinet across from the bathroom and on the other side of the entrance door from the kitchen that has no particular use so it's become our med cab. Do have anything similar?
