Mice ate the bunk bed cable, HELP

I am in a predicament! Mice ate through my bunk bed cable and the beds are retracted to the very top. It is too tight for even my petite daughter to access the mechanism. Is there another way to release the beds? It is a 43' 5th wheel and permanently placed.

I second Bid_Time.....Can you take the mattress and frame off the lift mechanism?

Different brands have different bunk mechanisms. If you specify what brand and model RV you might get better answers.
