Yes ... the AMA form, have signed two. Appropriate and proper documentation for EMS when an individual turns down the offer of a ride to the hospital in an ambulance. Most of the time, the person is fine and saves the cost of an expensive ride, but it is a gamble.
Thoughts go out to lady in this article, her family and friends. - bikendanExplorer

Why would a policeman take her to a motel and not the hospital?????????????
A LFO can not force the victim of an accident to to seek medical attention. He is only obligated to assure that the victim is safe from another accident. That usually means transporting the person off of a rural road or limited access freway and to a location where there is public transportation availabe or friends and relatives can safely pick them up.
even the ambulance personnel nor the firefighters can force someone to seek medical attention. they can only try to convince the victim.

Very few details so far. Such a sad story.

She may have refused medical attention at the scene. I was in an accident where all my air bags deployed - shattered the windshield and cut my hands and arm (not big, gaping wounds - just little shards of glass). All I wanted was some band-aids but they sent an ambulance and I had to sign a bunch of forms saying that I was refusing medical attention and that if I die later it's not their problem. I would hope that the cops wouldn't have dumped her at a motel if she appeared injured or in need of medical attention. The accident she was in may have been caused by a medical issue that wasn't obvious at the time but ultimately led to her death.
Sad ending either way. RIP Verizon alumnus. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer II

A kindly woman who apparently was part of a group called Shuttle Pet, used her RV to transport dogs to new homes? Anyway, she had just picked up a dog, and then somehow crashed her RV - her family reported her missing and asked people associated with this group to keep an eye out for her; and the ensuing drama sort of took place on the Shuttle Pet FB website. The policeman who reported to the scene took her to a nearby motel when she refused to go to the hospital via ambulance. I'm guessing she either had internal injuries from the crash - or suffered a heart attack due to the stress?
A very sad situation and my condolences to her family. - beemerphile1ExplorerAs someone that doesn't use myface, spacebook, or read twits, I have no idea what this is about. Wanna share? I am at work and those sites are blocked even if I wanted to go to them.
- KawgirlExplorerThank you everyone for sharing. Yes sadly the Deb and Ed M post is correct. She was found deceased in the motel room. Very sad day for her friends, family and pet rescue.
- fla-gypsyExplorerVery sad situation. I hope this is not a case of her refusing medical treatment after an accident. You never know what type of injury you may receive when something occurs. Always get evaluated if you are subjected to any event that can cause medical trauma.
