Besides bugspray, was wondering what everyone uses to help control the mosquitos around your campsite?

I'm just trying to figure out how someone came up with this formula ๐Ÿ™‚

Not saying it will not work.

I swear by the Off Insect Lanterns. I keep several around our camping area. It works. We also spray a yard guard when we first arrive and again during our stay. We purchase the lemongrass natural fogger from Costco. Plus of course, using a lot of bug spray and we wash it off at night before getting in bed.

Just a note on the OFF! lanterns, I went to my local go to place for refills and they instead have a new version of OFF! I searched online for refills for my version and they are now obsolete. I have just enough refills for this one next trip and after that I have to throw out the lanterns because refills are not available. As soon as I post here I'm going to Amazon to order a Thermacell device.

:B You not from Minnesota are ya. If you are not getting eaten by mosquitoes then that means that the lakes are frozen over and it's time to go ice fishing. Those are the only 2 season we have.

Picaridin. Works as well as DEET and won't melt your sunglasses or stylish white vinyl belt.

It appears Watkins is high percentage DEET, which works well for us too. Just try to use as little as possible. We buy the Walmart brand called Repel which is cheaper and DEET is DEET no matter the name on the container.

We use Thermocell which works great if it is calm. We have the backpacker version which has a small butane canister and will sit on the ground without falling over.

Citronella candles seem to work too, although not too well.

No seeums in the Keys are a bigger problem than mosquitos for us. A combination of the above usually works or it is time to go inside ๐Ÿ™‚

I think you should bring me along on your camping trips, Mosquitos love me, if there is one within a 100 miles it will find me first. You could stand guard and spray them with Raid as they fly in.

Watkins is the choice here .

All the country stores up here keep a supply at the checkout counter.

Here's one we've been using for years and it works.

Mosquitoes and black flies will not bite you. Promise.

Great Outdoors Insect Repellent by Watkins.

Worth trying it out.

Good insect repellent

If we have access to electric power we use two fans, one ocilating and one stationary and I place a citronela candle in front of each fan, another item that my wife uses is lavander oil in a vaporizer it seems to work, for some odd reason they do not go near me at all, if they do approach they buss me and take off, they really like her so I try to protect her as much as possible.
