Mystery Bolt

Don't you hate it when you finish a project and you find left over parts? I didn't disassemble anything but I do have this left over bolt. It was lying on the ground about 3' from the camper.

Two of the Equa-Flex brackets were upside down. I'm sure the service dept. did that when installing the new tires. But when cleaning up the area, I found this bolt. It may have come off the floor jack but I can't find anything missing a bolt on the jack or the camper.

Any ideas?

  • This is too funny!!!!!! Spring fever anyone?
  • Well, now that you guys mention it I think it is the bolt that retains the handle on a floor jack.

But, I have seen drain plugs in engines that look a little like that. The nipple is actually a magnet that catches any metal filings that fall into the oil.

Since it is not oily, that is not what it is. But, it looks a little like one.

By the way, if you take it back to the shop where you had the work done they will thank you. Then they may like you and treat you better then next time you are in a predicament .

  • That's a unique looking bolt with the nipple on the end. I wonder if was for some kind of fluid reservoir? I've not seen one like that before.
