Need advice on new toilet issue

Hey folks. I am in the process of changing out the original plastic Thetford toilet to a new porcelain Dometic 310. I had the old one out in about a minute, but noticed the Dometic has a lower water fitting, that also comes out in a horizontal position. The Thetford fitting was much higher and came straight down in a vertical position. So, I have a plastic line coming straight up out of the floor about a foot high. The Dometic is only about 4 inches from the floor.

I live in a small town with no RV stores, just an ACE hardware, which had nothing I could use. Is there some kind of flexible adapter I can get online or will I have to cut the line coming out of the floor and get a 90 degree elbow and new fitting? Are there any kits for this? Thanks for any help.

any good RV dealer will have the flex hose and fitting you need to make a solid hook up. I did mine with out any problems

As I stated above, I am in a small town and the nearest RV dealer is 150 miles round trip. Not really worth it for $10 worth of hardware.

  • Thanks for the quick reply! After 3 trips to the hardware store, I finally got it sorted out. It's not pretty, but has no leaks and works well. Thanks again for the help.....

  • I just installed a 310 and used a 1/2x1/2 toilet hose and a pvc 1/2 nipple to connect it to the old line. It will have a loop in it and it line up. I think I bought an 18 inch hose but measure yours.
