Hi all - I'm hoping to get some advice on getting rid of a trailer that has had its share of issues over the years.We've gotten to the point where we don't think its worth repairing, and can't imagine we could sell it privately, or get much for it in a trade.The camper in question is a 2005 KZ Coyote 25BH hybrid (one tent end, four bunks in the back).Last year we discovered that the floor by the entry door had some rot in it (soft/weak underfoot) related to a leak that we thought had been rectified by an earlier replacement of the hybrid door and tent canopy. While that problem as not gotten worse, on a trip this year we discovered evidence of another leak due to staining in one of the interior lights and on an interior wall. Upon returning home from this trip we found that the front corner of the camper had separated from the body of the trailer. The wood framing is in such poor shape that the screws pulled out of the frame.Could we sell the working parts (fridge, AC, oven/stove)?Do we put it on Craigslist in "as is" condition and see if we get any offers?Would any dealer take the camper in such condition and give us something towards a new unit?Is it worth trying to donate it (a search of the forum seems to suggests that this is a BAD idea)?TIA

I would post it on craigslist describing it like you have here. There arelots of do it yourselfers out there. Brian (It's really not too old)

It may make a decent hunting camp if you can't find a handyman hat wants to repair it. I bought a really old one about 10 years ago. Did not leak but was stripped out inside. It does not move anywhere. BNL is still using it. Won't get much, but a little is better than 00.

Put "cash transaction only" in the ad. I have found out that stops a lot of scammers.

There's bound to be a Yankee Redneck in the Philly area with more time than money. I'd list it for maybe a few grand and see what happens.
If you're not familiar with selling items on Craigslist, there's a few things you can do to enhance your safety. Meet in a public place, then take them to your house. Don't put your phone # in the ad. Request a specific phrase be placed in an email reply's Subject line, like "Hybrid Coyote". Robots troll Craigslist and send out a bizillion emails. A specific phrase in the respondent's email reply allows you to weed out the robots and spammers. Some people go so far as blacking out their license plate in the pics. Use "Tag" words, lumped together at the bottom of your ad, to increase your exposure to other people's search criteria. For example: trailer frame, tent, hunting lodge, target practice, Mother-in-law suite. Look at some ads, and you'll see what I'm talking about. You probably know all this stuff, anyway.

I agree with te posters who say sell on CL and state all known issues. Parting it out may get you more money, but you still have the shell to deal with - and it would still have to be towable since it would be on you to get rid of it somehow/somewhere.

Oftimes the parts will give you a better price than the whole. So do some research on the value of the kitchen components(appliances plus cabinetry) plus A/C, etc. and Craig's List away.
Place the rest of the unit in a dumpster when you are finished stripping it.

It will sell on CL. Look at what a similar year trailer is selling for and also look at the range for popups. You need to be well below a similar trailer in good condition, but if you are in the range with other "starter" units like popups, somebody with more amibition than budget will buy your trailer knowing they have some work to do.
