I had some trouble with my connection a while back. I ended up giving it a squirt of WD40 and had to use some force to get it to snap together. I snapped it on and off several times and it seemed to free up. Lack of use I suspect. I agree with Halmfamily, it's easier to plug it in when there is no pressure on the system.
