I need to move my 5th wheel from New Jersey to Florida in the next month or so. I do not have a truck handy to do it right now so I was thinking of renting one. I am also considering using a shipper to do the job for me. Would anybody here know of a rental company that could rent me a pickup one way,set up to tow a 5th wheel?

I can almost guarantee you will not find a rental truck for your job. Sorry

For reasons I don't know, nobody rents a truck for 5er pulling.If you contact a shipper via email, you will be flooded with replies for months on end.

One time I needed mine moved, and my truck was in the shop for some major repairs. So I posted an ad on Craigslist and found another 5th wheel owner who agreed to do it for a reasonable fee. I rode with him, and it all worked out great. I paid him $250 to move it 140 miles (including the return trip).Jim

Thanks for the info guys.I will take some advice and check into the sources mentioned.I didnt think I could rent a truck but figured I would ask.

Ask your local RV dealer for a recommendation, or see if it's a service they offer. They have to move inventory somehow.

In fact most (other then U-Haul) rental firms don't want you towing -anything-.

Yup, you probably will have to hire someone. It probably should be a regular CDL RV-Hauler, due to the distance and crossing state lines.
