New 5th Wheel gives better ride!

Last month we bought a brand new Grand Design Reflection 31MB. We enjoyed our last Jayco, but were just ready for something "new". This one is a perfect layout for us with a large mid bunkroom and rear living area. It's not huge (36+ feet) so our 2500HD handles it well.
The reason for this post is to brag about how well this FW tows compared to the Jayco. The Jayco bucked and chucked so much that we bought a MorRyde rubber pin box to help absorb the rough ride and it really helped but didn't fix the problem. I thought I'd have to buy another MorRyde pin box ($800) for the new trailer but after pulling it home I've decided it doesn't need one. This trailer tows way better! It must have something to do with axle placement, weight distribution, or something...whatever they did worked. No more stress from towing a bucking bronco trailer!

  • Glad to hear your tow has improved. The fact that fifth wheels tow differently is what makes it impossible to give good broad range hitch advice. Some fifth wheels tow fine with a solid hitch and the owners find them perfectly acceptable. My trailer requires an air hitch.
