New to dinghy TOAD towing

So I went ahead and bought myself a used 2000 Saturn SL2 automatic vehicle, really great deal just under $1,000. but what i didn't do was look into the cost of a tow package and braking system. the few estimates i got are double what i paid for the car itself. I know i shouldn't cut corners and go cheap on the equipment but does anyone know of a website, place of business, or any other way to get the equipment from? I am pretty handy and have tools and means to do it myself. i live in the Bay Area California and i have went to CampingWorld and a few RV service locations and i feel that the cost are way too high.

Also CraigsList and eBay. Many Many RVers towed Saturns. You're likely to find some parts. Can you install the baseplate yourself?

We should install a braking system in every toad. Older coaches, even more. Newer ones have bigger brakes, even if they're front disc/rear drum. Still newer ones have disc at all four corners and that's even better. That said, toad brakes for everybody! You can probably find a used Brake Buddy.
