Now I see

Now I see why people retire. It's so I can have time to go to Dr appointments. Yep, it's a real beauty, spinal stenosis and bone spur in the neck area. Constant pain into the back of my head and hard to get up after sitting. Right leg is numb/pain and messed up all the way down. Back injections next week. BUT, after reading everything I could find on here I have to say that I agree with those who said....it's better to be over the hill than under the hill. I'll piss my pants and crawl into the rv before I quit! Damn, I just got started!!!!!

Will not work with spinal stenosis, that is only good for disk repair and such.

    That is what causes stenosis.
  • Ain't retirement just grand. Well, really it is. I have a saying, "Retirement means getting up in the morning with nothing to do, and going to bed at night with only half of it done."
  • rjxj: Hit the nail on the head! Retirement gives you the time to spend in Dr.s waiting rooms! No way could I afford spending that much time while working. The other advantage is that in retirement you have the time to reschedule camping trips that you had to cancel because of Dr. appointments.
On our third reschedule in two months because of test, appointments, follow-ups and the such. Feel so sorry for the DW, putting up with my mess. Trying to head to the Gulf coast, but most all spots are taken for the window we have available - gotta be back home for follow-up test, etc again. We can only plan short range now due to the medical hassles. But I agree, thank God for retirement! Working full time with the disadvantages we have now would be impossible to do anything. At least now there's always hope for tomorrow.

  • I hear ya. My wife and I both have big medical issues, but not life threatening so far! We take it a day at a time. Some days we keep busy and others we don't get anything done.

Gonna sell the house in 3 years and hit the road. Have to figure out the Dr visits and the med orders. But one way or another we will get it done.

It used to be fun having a home and all the upkeep and such. Not so much anymore. Since value in owning a home has diminished to nil, we feel its more of a burden to do all the repairs and upkeep. Countdown to an easier lifestyle is stated!
