I had a similar experience draining a fully pressurized HWH. I wasn't so lucky. The blowout plug shot out and hit me right in the family jewels, followed by ten gallons of pressurized water. I was left with my jeans, socks and shoes soaked. It was late October, it was 10 PM and it was below freezing outside. I had another hour of setup to go before I could get changed.
