OREGON DUMP STATION SHORTAGE?

We often camp at various USFS campgrounds in the Columbia river Gorge & MT Hood area as we live in S.E. Portland. Coming back into town after camping we use to dump at an RV center in Sandy Oregon. It was free and we greatly apreciated this facility. Only other option we knew of was at MT Hood RV village and that was crazy expensive . So the RV center dump is now closed on weekends sadly. Can only guess why. So cannot locate any other dump stations in the Sandy or Troutdale areas. Any suggestions?

Never, never put a dump station in at home. Instead, put in a sewage clean-out that just happens to be located right where one would plop down a hose and dump an RV. Same thing, but the word difference is the difference between having the local neighborhood NIMBY brigade with torches and pitchforks at your door versus neighbors thinking you have some good sense in ensuring that sewage backups won't happen.
  • Thanks guys. Troutdale may be an option. Will check it out. I believe it may be Camping World is closed for dump on weekends. Might be confusing that with Johnson RV. Time to research. Thanks again . Wanted to have you all over for dinner but DW says NO. So thanks any way
  • There are several sites that list OR dump stations. One I use is http://www.sanidumps.com/rvdumpsregion.php?region=51, but there are a couple others if you search on it.
  • Memaloose State park and the rest stop on the east bound lanes both had them. But neither show up on Trip Check now. Used to be that Oregon was pretty good about having these available. But cost cuts have eliminated most of them with all the regulations. I'd heard rumor that the druggies that dumped could cause significant damage so that was one factor in getting rid of unsupervised dump stations.

I nderstand dumping costs and I am not lookin for a free ride. I do feel the state registration fee for RV's should cover a few more dump stations. Not against paying to dump at RV Village but the last time I dumped there I think it was atleast $10.
