I had the same type of problem. My old Minnie Winnie was badly sun-faded from years in Arizona. I checked auto paint shops for a new paint job or just the decals. All were pretty expensive. I decided to use some auto paint and self-paint some tropical scenes (palm trees and parrots) on my old Minnie-Winnie. Was great fun and the old gal gots lots of compliments. I already had the brushes and artist paints as it's kind of a hobby with me anyway. The good part was it only cost me the price of a couple gallons of auto paint.
