I'm sorry but even the manufacturer, Keystone, calls the Retreat a "destination" trailer, NOT a park model. As has been said, destination trailers do have slides and holding tanks.

It was Robert McCulloch,the chain saw maker,that founded Lake Havasu City that did that.I was a shill on a lot of flights along with a few friends.

You gave them a check for $500 and they gave it back when we got back.

Got a $50 kick back for a free flight and an afternoon at the lake.

One word: Californians.

back then Hughes?? would fly you out and show you around the development. not that crowded at the time. a lady in my car pool took them up on the flight/visit but didn't buy. to get the flight you had to give them a check, payable to both you and to Hughes?? which was returned if you didn't buy. I checked zillow the other day and got about 1000 hits, most park models.

I have had many Park Models in the 20 yrs that I have been in the rental business and I have only owned one Park Model that had a slide out. Actually it had 2 slide outs. It was a older model. All my Park Models are 400 sf

That is also what I think of when someone says "Park Model".
That description says it has holding tanks.

I think they have been re-named in the last dozens years. I remember looking at floor plans when first looking for at RV's back in 2009.
I saw a Park Model floor plan that looked perfect. Then when we went to look at it, I said, I ain't haulin' that behemoth around from campground to campground.
Salesman says You buy this and put it in place and leave it.

yep, that is how I remember them. the current "park model" WOULD seem to be just a large TT. old ones were sort of like the current "tiny house" jobbies.

That's not a true Park Model, some manufacturers call them Destination Trailers. True Park Models are like small Mobile homes with residential A/C, a peaked roof with shingles and no holding tanks.

We own a Jayco Jayflight Bungalow Destination Trailer. It is similar to the Forest River unit, except ours does have holding tanks. Five tanks total, 1 fresh, 2 gray and 2 black. Ours has a half bath in the bunkhouse.

Ours has 4 slides and we leave them out all season long. We live in it the entire season, although one time we did leave for a week, but left all the slides open.

Slides are meant to be extended and retracted. Keep up with the maintenance and you can open and close them to your hearts delight, like any other RV.
