Ready to hook up and go.

Your math looks right to me. :)

That tells me you can tow a fully loaded 12k 5er at 25% pin, maybe a bit heavier but most people have no idea what their pin really is!

Using the GVWR that gives you 1460#/1480# range to load in the truck, that is less than 3/4 ton. I think I can get that much weight in the average car with 5 or 6 people & the trunk loaded with groceries from the store or suit cases for vacation....

You just figured it out and don't even think you did.
It's ridiculous to think a 3/4 ton can only haul 3/4 ton. 100% by your logic above. You don't even need to be that well read on trucks to understand it.
But the fun part is there is a certain group of folks on here who would swear on a stack of bibles, just becasue GM or whoever puts a sticker on the truck saying so, that it is in fact, fact.

MFG sets GVWR and payload Which is based on MFG GVWR

Neither have 'legal' status ....just a MFG rating used for warranty issues and consumer propaganda (we have more then XXX)
MANY STATES do not care about MFG weight ratings.......register the vehicle for 10K, 12K or higher regardless of MFG GVWR

Axle/Tire load ratings DO have legal status and should NOT be exceeded

That my thoughts also. Always thought why put a rear axle under a truck that you can carry 2,500 + pounds then limit it to 1,200lb by another number. I know on my F250 when I set 2,000lb in the bed it just squat it to where the overload just barely touch. By my scale axle weight and the axle rating I can carry 3,160lb.

Why have a RAWR and NOT be able to load to it??? Perfect example is my 15 DRW with 9,750# RAWR. Now add that number to my UNLOADED front axle weight of 5,250#, HMMMMMMMM 15k what the HELZ???

You'll be way over on the trucks GVWR with that pin weight. I would say you GVWR is around 8,800 lb being a 3/4 ton.

I think he's right here for avail payload/pin weight overall. Yes Cummins V12 is right when you look at rear axle capacity avail, but when you take into acc't overall weight of truck (based on OP's numbers) I come up w/just 1480# total avail. Now I'm not an angel as I too was waaaaay over on my limits w/ my '03 F250 & '06 Creek, and yes it did tow it quite well. Legal.....no. So perhaps someone can offer up other comments.
