The new 5 er we have has a plastic cover that snaps closed to cover the stove vent on the outside under a hooded cover...it is very tight and feels like it might break everytime we open it....was going to put some grease on it but thought would run by the board to see if anyone else has this problem....if had some paraffin wax would use that.....may try a candle first.....before grease.....any thoughts?

When my stove vent cover begins sticking it's because grease from the exhaust builds up over time and tends to "glue" it closed. Cleaning off the excess grease fixes the problem for a while.

Give it a few months, you'll soon be asking how to tighten it up because it's too loose.

First try loosening the screws around the cover and see if the flapper moves freely. Then evenly retighten the screws down.
