Portable Oxygen Concentrators

I am just curious to see if anyone has any experience with the Inogen One G3 Concentrator? I rented one and took it on a 10 day trip with me which involved a lot of flying. No problems with TSA or the Airlines with it and it was no problem carrying it around with me. I really hope I get some positive replies as I just went ahead and purchased a new one.

Thanks for the great replies and ideas. The Company I purchased through did reduce the sales price by the cost of the rental and I was able to get a few other little perks thrown in with the deal so I am happy with the purchase. I purchased the 16 cell battery also. I use oxygen at night while I sleep at a setting of 2 lph and do have a Respironics Home Concentrator that is a continuous flow for home use. I wanted the G3 for travel and camping as most of the places we camp don't have hookups so we rely on generator power for battery charging. Cannot run generator after 10 PM so the G3 will rely on it's battery or maybe plugged into 12vdc? I am lucky that I can get by at 2 lph because I did crank the G3 up to setting 4 and it really starts cranking it on, not sure batteries would last to long at that setting plus it gets loud. I do like the G4 but the battery life is just not enough for my needs.
Does anyone know how much power (amps) this will draw if plugged into a 12vdc socket?

On the power question I found that it uses 20 watts at a setting of 2 so I think that works out to 1.7 amps x 8 hours sleep = 13.6 amps, not to bad but who sleeps 8 hours.:Z

I'll write a bit more about the warranty, which we bought along with the machine. Last year, my wife's machine was getting very cantankerous, almost unusable. We called Inogen, and they had a new unit here in 24 hours. UPS man came to the door; he and I took the new Inogen out of the box and put the old one back into the same box. Attached the included label and away he went. No charge.

I purchased an Inogen One G3 and it is one of the best decisions I have made, although I do wish it was a bit lighter. We, as others mentioned above, purchased the extra battery and the warranty. It was certainly worth the cost. The ease of not worrying about individual tanks or having enough of them certainly makes the Inogen worth the cost. It is simple to use and is pretty quiet also. It give me much more freedom to just jump in my car and go. Enjoy yours!

Inogen is great. Medicare paid for mine, prescribing doctor must word presc just right. Good luck!

Inogens are good. They are pricy.

The G3 produces a maximum of 5 liters pulse. Note that pulse is effectively less oxygen than a constant flow concentrator, so if you use, say, 3 liters on your constant flow, be prepared to set the G3 on 4 on a pulse machine. (Last I checked, all of the portable machines are pulse. The large units, plug in the wall, are constant flow.)

Inogen is the only company that we know of that has a machine that will do 6 liters pulse, namely, the G2 model. That maximum setting is just enough for my wife if she is talking, but otherwise sitting fairly still. And it allows us the freedom to travel.

If you go with Inogen, buy the lifetime warranty. It's worth it.

Check to see if your insurance will pay for all or part of it. Ours paid for exactly none of it, but it was worth the investment nonetheless so that we can travel.

Also invest in an extra battery; an external battery charger (you wouldn't think you'd need it until suddenly, unexpectedly you do); and a 12 volt charger.
