Pounds 6,200 VS 4,700

An EcoDiesel is more car than TV and as a TV...best to keep it small

Both aero-factor and inclines will reduce performance, MPG and longevity

Keep away from over sized tires...that will effectively reduce your diff ratio
towards a MPG ratio than a towing ratio

DO NOT suspension lift it, as that will reduce the power delivered to pavement.
Body lift will not have the higher U-Joint angles, so the power will remain the
same, but the air allowed underneath the TV will rob power...therefore MPG and performance

Agree...think you bought too small a TV for those trailers you are considering
and the terrain you suggest with 'grades'

If you get the 31' TT you won't be worrying about mpg's, you'll be worrying about how much money you'll be losing when you trade up to a 2500.

You have a super nice, beautiful, and efficient truck. It was designed.. and marketed.. as a MPG king.

I don't know any other way to say this to you.

You may have bought the wrong truck...

You are already trying to improve the experience... trading trailers.. spending money to fix the problem with bandaids....

Please load your truck up with all passengers and all gear they would take on a trip.. and go to a CAT scale and weight your truck.

You may find that you don't have the payload to tow a RV with this truck... Meaning you may be looking at an upgrade to a 2500 already.

Gaining MPG would be nice but I agree that 1-2 MPG gain would be the max increase if there is any increase at all. I am more interested in finding out if the lighter trailer would tow better up hills, will I feel less load. I know parking the shorter trailer will be much easier. Also wondering if saving 1,500 pounds of weight will make a big difference on the truck's wear and tear?

The weights are the measured dry weight of each trailer.

A My RAM Laramie Limited 4x4 Crew Cab, Long Bed, 4 Point Air Suspension with four passengers only has a cargo weight/hitch of 325 pounds. Plus Ram can track track how much weight is in the truck. I'm in the process of adding additional suspension to over come this issue.

Not being a wise guy, but does that Ram model have enough payload to carry either one of those trailer's tongue weights plus family? I thought I heard that the diesel had a puny payload for a half ton.

Are these numbers dry weights from the brochure? Additional weight will impact the payload capacity more than the fuel mileage.
