Protect A Tow for Jeep?

I am about ready for my first trip with our new toad - a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. I am wondering about the rocks, etc. being thrown by the rear wheels of my motorhome, and whether the Jeep is tall enough that it will not need any type of rock guard such as the Protect A Tow or similar? Advice please, and thanks in advance!

I'm not convinced that damage to a toads windshield comes from the MH that is towing it. If you look at the angle from the MH tires to the toad windshield there is no way a rock can travel to most windshields. We had a full width rock guard on the back of our MH when we first bought it. The rock guard caused more rocks to fly around because it acted like a big broom. I took the rock guard off and installed wider and longer mud flaps directly behind the dual tires. Both time we have had broken windshieds it has been on the MH and has come from cars on one side or the other passing us.

Plus it's a JEEP.

Yeah, like $220 for a makeshift horizonal curtain and think I'll just take my chances some more with the guard under coach, behind the wheels and so far, so good.

I have a 05 TJ with 31" tires. I have towed it for 3 years with no additional protection and haven't had any damage. Of course there is always thet 1 misguided rock....

I used one on my Jeep Liberty when we were in Alaska and the Yukon, but have not on since and have no rock problems.

We use Protect A Tow with our Rubicon. Probably towed 10K miles with no damage. Protect A Tow is easy to attach and detach. Storage is easy. IMHO it is pricey for what it must cost to manufacture. You will not be able to find discounted prices on the Internet. All that said I'm happy with the product.

It will be interesting to see what the answers are. I'm about to tow a 2002 Wrangler behind a 2005 Excursion 39S. I was considering some type of protection, but I didn't find anything I liked. And ours has a 2" lift, so I don't think rocks can hit above the bumper. The one I did find that I liked, the MH exhaust was going to be about 6" from it and blowing directly on it.
