Quarantine for Florida trip?

We are scheduled to travel to Tampa area sometime in January to have some work done on the MH (remove that ugly nasty plastic film on front)
The question bothering me is with the COVID 'spike' we are going through once again, is there an isolation period for Florida and Ft Myers area in particular?

I expect to have been vaccinated in the next week or so here in Georgia

Here in our neck of the woods we have been on a statewide lockdown pretty much since it all started, zero dining in restaurants and all state parks closed for RVers. We have traveled to neighboring states of TX, AZ, CO to be able to enjoy RVing during the pandemic.

While for the most part people are wearing masks and practicing social distancing in these less restricted states, there are many who scoff at the notion. We didn't fret or just hide in our RV the whole time, we enjoyed ourselves immensely since we have no problem following CDC guidelines.

So you heard they reached herd immunity?

Don't listen to nonsense !
We have been here a month now, and in every supermarket or drug store we have never seen any one with out a mask.
The only place that they don't seem to be wearing them is in the RV parks. I guess they think they are safe there, but we haven't joined the herd and wear them whenever we go off our little piece of paradise.

With that said; I can't speak about the big cities, since we don't go to them

Mich 800: The political types want the economy humming down here. Doesn't it make more sense to vaccinate the work force at large, along with healthcare workers, emergency services, immune compromised, then us old farts? Covid-19 may not be lethal to the under 65 crowd, but there's not a small number of folks that have lingering effects from the virus they may or may not recover from. And, for the Georgia gentleman, the infection rate down here is not below the CDC preferred 5%. Florida is in the top 3-4 states for cases and deaths. Herd immunity??

An excellent question, Dave. I'm a geezer and can think of many population segments that should be vaccinated ahead of me.

Won't much matter. The vaccine allotments are coming in dribs and drabs anyway. I'm good waiting to see how things go. Perhaps wait until the J&J vaccine is approved. One shot and done, no return trip to stand in line.

There are two basic strategies occurring. 1. vaccinate those with the highest probability of dying. (the geezers) or 2. Those most likely to come in contact with it but not necessarily high risk of severe complications. (firs responders, medical, etc)

So it comes down to what is the desired outcome. Reduced deaths or reduced cases.

And on that note, any detail/tint shop can R&R clear bra on a vehicle. Itโ€™s not RV specific.
Iโ€™d rather a local place do it anyways. Probably cheaper too.
Or DIY if youโ€™re bored sitting at home. Itโ€™s not hard to do.

They reached heard immunlty in August. No spikes down there. If you are sick you will know it, symptoms are like the flu and include bad headache and loss of taste, but check the list as not everyone has every symptom. If you have symptoms you probably will be in bed, thus isolated, not walking about chatting it up with people. Sometimes Dr death fauci says mask work. if you are very sick with it then just wear a mask, and then everyone is safe. Sometimes dr death says mask dont work. But if you listen to him you wont be traveling anyway, you would have killed yourself already.

If you need any more information on why this pandemic has reached an unprecedented level in both the number of infected and deaths, all you need to do is read posts from people like this. Fortunately, I believe there are many more informed people on these forums. I just received this email from my local hospital that treated my heart issues. They have already received a shipment of the vaccine, but...

Please remain vigilant in helping prevent the spread of the virus
There's much to be thankful for these days, including the recent news that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted emergency use authorization for the administration of COVID-19 vaccines. Based on national guidance, receipt of the initial supply of vaccines is being prioritized for those at greatest risk of exposure, including healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents.

For now, it is too early to know when we may have additional guidance around vaccine availability for our patients and community. Stay informed about vaccination developments, including those specific to our health network, on our COVID-19 Resource Hub.

In the meantime, please continue to take precautions and follow the guidance of your local health department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including wearing a mask, practicing good hand hygiene and maintaining social distancing, to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Thanks for trusting us with your care. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Not sure where you live, but here in the Keys you cannot get into any establishment with out a mask and people except for the out of staters and the people from Miami are adhering to it.

And as far as taking care of the seniors I guess you have not heard the news (right from the governor) that we will be getting the vaccination even before essential workers.
I checked with the Monroe county board of health and and they said yes that it is true and we should be getting an e-mail as soon as it is available.

We live in Central Florida. I lived in the Keys for 10 years. It never accepted itself as part of Florida. As far as vaccination for over 65, that is simply the largest voting block in Florida so it will come before our police, EMT's and other essential workers that interact with a large segment of the public. But it is in doubt at this time just how long it will take to actually get the vaccine out to us. Yes, I am over 65 by quite a bit. My point to the OP has been, your concern is not and should not be restrictions or quarantines. It needs to be on taking care of yourself if you plan to come to Florida. Our infections average 10,000 to 13,000 PER DAY and positivity rates average 8 to 10 percent. With no restrictions or guidelines in place and very few practicing social distancing or mask-wearing, you need to be very careful down here. Only you are going to take whatever measures you need to stay safe and healthy. Chuck

"I expect to have been vaccinated in the next week or so here in Georgia"

Vaccinating RVers wanting to travel to Florida to have their coach beautified doesn't seem like a national or state priority item to me but I'll let the State of Georgia determine that issue.

And as a "horsedoc," (Doctor as in "DVM") you know much more about transmission of viruses than 99% of us.

If the "spike" bothers you, and it does me, put your trip off until late in 2021. Take personal responsibility whatever you decide...make the MH beautiful again or be more safe.

Well it appears FL is doing better, much better than surrounding states, so the lack of restrictions doesnโ€™t seem to be cause for issue. Especially given FLโ€™s population density and high % of elderly people and those living in close quarters. (Ethnic extended families living under the same roof)
