Any recommendations on where to go to get a wastewater tank (the bigger the better)? It will pretty much permanently sit in the pickup bed, one side or other of the 5th wheel, whatever is more cost effective for the volume.Looking to make dumping easier on me. The 3 lakes we go to don't have waste water hookups, but they do have dump stations. At +70 it's gotten to be a real pain for me to run the trailer to the dump station every day or two. I decided against one of those wheeled blue totes. What I think will be easiest for us will be a tank in the truck with a macerator pump to make the transfer.

If your going with the macerator pump, I would check with a farm store, maybe tractor supply, something made as a spray or livestock water tank, as long as it has a good sized discharge opening for you to plumb a drain.The other possibility would be a bladder tank, I have seen marine applications for sewage. Modutank.com sells some around 160 gallon

In either case, with any large tank you're also going to have to fool with a waste hose 'cause you'll never be able to move it when full. I have a 30-gallon surplus ($10) plastic drum I mount in the bed. No reason you couldn't go with a 55 gallon one though.I used a 2" to 1-1/2" reducer, 1-1/2" gate valve (RV or pool filter), Banjo fittings, and sump pump hose to empty it. Filling chores are handled with a Flojet macerator pump.

I am happy with my 42 gallon barker. But If I wanted more the 210 gallon tank looks like a very feasible idea for a RV that is stationary

I use a 210 gallon tank, that gives me plenty of room to clean my tank
I have my TT on personal property so I have to empty into a tank and haul it to a truck stop 15 mins away

No need at all for a large tank, in fact just a couple of 7 gal Aquatainers will suffice. The reason - there's no need to empty the trailer's black water tank completely, only off load enough content so the system is usable again. Works for me - and a couple of 7 gal 'Tainers that weigh but a pound apiece when empty sure are a lot easier to deal with than a large tank that has to be wrestled into the truck bed. ;)

Then he rinsed out the tank with the water hose at the dump site...

EXACTLY what I'm looking to do, something 150G or a bit larger, so long as it sits in the bed like I want it to. Total wastewater volume 129G (x3 43G grey-grey-black tanks).

Sorry to ask, but tank volumes seem to be about the same as ours, and we can go a week, by just being a bit conservative with water usage. That said I do shower every day and so does the DW.

I saw one of those FLO-JET pumping into the waste tank in the back of this guys truck a couple of season ago...

Worked like a champ... He said always have a tank in the back of the truck bigger than the one on the trailer then you don't have to worry about over filling the one on the truck. He said that could get to be a big mess...

Once it got done he just disconnected the 3/4-inch hose from the flow-jet and tied it off high on the truck bed. Then drove down to the dump and let it gravity feed into the dump drain...

Then he rinsed out the tank with the water hose at the dump site...

No mess what so ever...

Even I could do this I think...
