RoadMaster Brake Pro 9300

I have a Roadmaster Brake Pro that has a slight air leak at the shaft that comes out the apply cylinder where the pedal clamp attaches. The compressor will come on every 4 minutes. The specs are that the system should hold air without the compressor coming on for at least 10 minutes. I have thoroughly checked the entire rest of the system with soap bubbles and am sure there no other leaks. My question is: Is there some type of oil that I can add down the shaft to stop the leak? The cylinder is non-servicable. Other wise the Brake Pro works correctly. Or where can I buy a new cylinder?

  • If you can take off an airline close to the cylinder and put a few drops of air tool oil in it. Then activate the cylinder a dozen times or so. The oil will often get rid of the leak if you can get it inside the cylinder. Putting oil outside the seal usually does nothing as the oil is just wiped off by the outer seal.
  • Regarding the air cyclinder leak. First contact Kelsey at Roadmaster about a replacement cylinder. There just might be one available.

Then... do a Brake Pro search on Ebay. right now ther are a couple pf 9300 Brake Pros listed at a fraction of the cost of a new one.

I had great luck in finding a replacement transmitter for one taken from my recovered stolen toad.

Word of wisdom about spare key for unlocking steering wheel for towing. DON'T leave it in vehicle when there is no need for it.
  • Roadmaster does not have a replacement cylinder. They have not sold this model for several years. Thanks
  • I would assume Roadmaster would be the first choice to call.

If they can't help you, would it be possible to have the cylinder welded by a shop that specializes in hydraulics?

Other than that, I don't have any suggestions. Good luck.
