Have you seen how a Roadmaster Tow Shield mounts to a Roadmaster baseplate? I have both, and use the tow shield, and like it. They also make a skirt, that would also protect the towed car, probably better.
I might be able to fabricate something, but would have to see how your baseplate is, and how could I attach a flat area, where the RM tow shield would attach to the baseplate, in a similar way that RM attaches to it's baseplate.
I have a friend with a Blue Ox system, but I forget how the baseplate looks, and he is 1,100 miles away from me now, so that is no good.. .
You might try buying the RM tow shield, and finding a welding shop that can fabricate a bracket. IT helps a lot of you could draw something up, or make a cardboard template for them to work from. They would also need to keep your car for a couple of hours, while they fabricate a bracket. But don't expect them to drop everything and put you first in line, you might need to go in and talk with them, then schedule a time in a week or so, when the welder will have you on his calendar. ..
Good luck!
