RV air conditioner warranty

Has anyone had their a/c, that would not work correctly, swapped out under warranty with a different brand?

I’d deal with the shop that installed it.

I made a mistake choosing this dealer.....his ego far surpasses his abilities.....I started feeling un easy as soon as he showed up and started removing the broken one. Things went down hill from there....
  • If you can get a AtWood. The one we just picked up new was still built in Australia! It's so queit, efficient and so much more powerful than the new dometic we threw off the roof.
  • If it's a Dometic call them directly, they have a two year warranty. Our 15K unit failed around 18 months old, called Dometic they gave me the number of a local mobile repair tech and in less than ten days we had a new A/C installed.
  • Yes we had to have ours changed out less than a year after purchase, but yeah, the warranty was actually with the AC manufacturer itself, not Keystone. Dealer had to contact Keystone, Keystone had to contact the AC manufacturer, and AC manufacturer had to agree to replace it. Took forever.
  • Like getting a Chevy in place of a Ford from a Ford dealer!
  • I believe the A/C unit itself is covered by the A/C manufacturer so I would have to believe they would satisfy a warranty claim (if the whole unit had to be replaced) with one of their units.

Mine was replaced under warranty, with the same brand.
  • If a warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the appliance, they are not going to give you someone elses brand as a replacement. If you have an extended warranty through an aftermarket Co. I would still doubt it. Be interesting to find out though.
