How is Europe making it today when the consumers are paying more like $8 a gallon? It will stay low until we start burning more than we are pumping like before.
What are we going to do when MX who is supplying 12% of our crude becomes a net importer when things get hot again?
The answer is to get off of oil but that will take 20-50 years to do much in a meaningful way.
Whether anyone wants to believe it or not the U.S. is sitting on enough oil that when the other countries start running out of oil we will be the new oil producing nation! why do you think we are not drilling our our own oil right now? we are just sitting and waiting for the right time.
