RV Storage

Take a look at Freeway Storage on I-35 near Forest Lake. Super clean, no junk, fenced, motion detectors, cameras, coded gate, lights. Been outside there for 5 years. Never had a mouse problem. Great place. Snow is not a problem it will protect the roof from UV once it builds up a little.

If you're considering indoor storage, chose a building which didn't house animals, feed or seed.

If you can afford it, inside storage is always going to trump outside. Mice can be controlled, the weather not so much. The mice are also outside so no advantage over inside storage. Rodents should be way down on your list for storage choices.

Snowfall in the TC averages 48" and 10 major snow events/year. It doesn't all accumulate. I tend to remove snow from my trailer as it piles up. Keeps the roof and ceiling from compressing. I use a roof rake with a pair of wheels on it. It rides above the roof surface and doesn't contact the roof. I operate it from a ladder alongside the trailer. It is a 30 minute ordeal. a few times a year.

A Class C RV will have a fairly stout roof structure, similar to my enclosed cargo trailer. I never remove snow from that.

No, this is not now.

I'm in Mn. and the snow doesn't accumulate very bad on the roof. With blowing and some melting, I have never cleaned off the roof. I do use an RV cover though.

And I store mine outside - although we leave every January for the south - but it still gets lots of snow - one year the motor home had snow on the roof 5 days after arriving in Destin Florida

We live in the Twin Cities and store our Class C indoors (we're not winter campers or snowbirds). The best deal in the Twin Cities is the State Fairgrounds (info is available online). They only store motorhomes and cars (no travel trailers or boats). Their buildings do not have mice in them. The rate is very reasonable. You must be in by late Oct (they set very specific dates for moving in) and out in late March. We have found more flexible indoor storage but it is in Pine County - very reasonable but we can come and go as we please. No problems with mice. Subjecting any RV to the elements in a Minnesota winter simply can't be a good thing. But many do store outdoors. Just not us!

We have a lot of snow and we have stored our Class C outside for 10 years. Never shoveled the roof and have had no problems. YMMV.

I store ours at the county fairgrounds for the winter and have never had a problem with mice. I throw a few Bounce dryer sheets on the floor but don't know if that does anything other than make it smell good when I open it up in the spring. I like that it is not out in the elements over the winter.

We live in the snow belt. Never had a problem with snow on our RV roof. Been camping for over 20 years. Never stored any inside.
