Saved a TON of money on prescriptions! Thanks Good Sam!

DW & I are retired early 2 more weeks before we close on the house and hit the road. Yesterday DW informed me that she needs to fill some prescriptions and she's expecting to pay over $500.00 :S

No insurance of course till the house is sold and we setup domicile in another state.

Deb noticed a Good Sam's Club Prescription program and digs deeper. She finds that CVS is a Participant and she prints out the ID card and we head down to CVS.

The total for the prescriptions was $695.99. Deb presented the card and after all was said & done we ended up paying $167.15

Saved $528.84 dollars!

    Thanks for posting this, I never knew about the GS RX saver card. Sounds great!

    This is amazing...after the hundreds of pounds of unwanted junk mail GSE has sent me and the endless SPAM to my computer, NOT ONCE has there been any mention of this discount card.

    Sadly even at 62 I dont take any prescription drugs (or any others for that matter) and so have little use for this. But I will keep it just in case.

    I'm telling you. DW & I have worked the insurance biz for the last 30 years. These are GREAT prices!

    We can't setup domicile until we sell the house 92 weeks till closing). Then we will setup domicile in TX. Until then we have ZERO health insurance. Should get all this worked out very shortly.

    It lists alot of pharmacies near My Brother. I might have to sign him up for GS.

    It is not limited to just one pharmacy - I put in a drug in the price checker and three local pharmacies indicated it would take the Good Sam Card - Kinney, Rite Aid and a local independent pharmacy The Falls Pharmacy (in Lyons Falls, NY)

    Non-Insurance = Full Price medication. Sorry, a little confusing.

    What's a "non-insurance price" and do you have to ask a doctor for it or can you just ask at the pharmacy?

    Almost fell over when she rang it up! What a deal! Rite-Aid was where we get our prescriptions. Deb called her doctor to get a "non-insurance price then asked to phone it in to Rite-Aid.

    thanks for the info! I have to pay 25% of my prescription costs and although not a lot, this may save me a few bucks over a year's time.
