Screw on Velcro discs, update on velwashers

See first post on Page 3.

On each side of the tub/shower are little plastic discs of velcro that are screwed onto the fiberglass wall. I tried everything on the Velcro website and they are not listed anywhere. Do any of you know where I can get them. I am thinking of using them to hold the privacy shade cloth to the front of the rig.

These have been on the moho since it was new and the velcro is still completly stuck to the disc. I've not had good luck with velcro stuck to surfaces that get hot. I did notice there is one that is fireproof but where can you buy it? I have contacted Velcro, USA but no reply yet. I dont want to use the metal tonneau cover type of holders or metal snaps.

You might want o clean the attachment spot with MEK first, possibly some other product, maybe alcohol? Medical not drinking kind!

Well the washers arrived today the 15th and they are exactly what I ordered. Heavy plactic disc with clear velcro hook material and a hole in the center. They are actually 55/64" but it will do what I want. There are 1 1/8" velwashers too but I think that would be too big and show up too much. I will use SS #6 sheet metal screws with a dab of sealant in the hole and arounf the screw.

Thanks for all the info and ideas. Cathy is very helpul and read off all the velwashers she had in stock. Nice lady and nice company.

I ordered twelve of the 7/8" beige, hook velwashers at $0.35 each. Cathy said they would be shipped via UPS today. We're going to San Diego camping with the grandkids for the week end, I'll report back Tuesday if they have come in. They also have 7/8 black, hook in stock.

She is really nice and helpful.

Are you talking about on the outside of the rig?

If so, I think velcro would load up with debris/dirt pretty fast- might not be the best fastener for the application!

Yes I am talking about on the outside. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes. Bugs would be the only thing I can think of that might mess them up.

To hershey,I guess I could make it out of wood but I don't want it to be to obvious and glueing velcro to wood may not be the best solution. Like I said I haven't had the best results glueing velcro in very hot locations.

just place the pile over the hook section to keep stuff from clogging up the hook.

These are also used in TrailManors, you could probably order some from the factory.

Wide Velcro strips, a pair of scissors or large round leather punch 3/4" or 1" diameter, and a screw - and you can make your own very easily.

I have found velcro doesn't like UV. Also the adhesive fails when it gets hot. I think screw snaps may be a better solution if you are intent on screwing something in. You can get stainless ones.

They are called Velwashers. I need some too. They are impossible to find in the tan color and the 7/8" size used in our MH.

Seems like a simple item to make yourself? Piece of wood, velcro and a screw.
