i have a 26' that is 4400lbs. towing with a nissan pathfinder (6000lb tow cap). i have a recurve weight dist and sway control on it now. along with airlift 1000 bags in the springs. on my old truck i had a standard sway control bar and that thing was awesome but this is just a bushing and though the sway is not unbearable it is really annoying. has anyone ever used a sway bar for a secondary with the recurve? any ifo would help. this is my first camper and going on my first trip next week

Something isn't right. You should have no sway. Adding sway control won't fix the problem, only hide it. You may need to readjust your hitch, and get the tongue weight up.

I addition to the above I would recommend you having your set up weighed.

1. TV connected to TV with WDH activated,
2. TV connected to TV with WDH deactivated.
3. TV disconnected and separate scale as TT.

You will get three slips from the CAT scales and you can enter your weights into this spreadsheet.

This spreadsheet seemed to change since I used it but it will tell you the weight of your tongue. If your tongue weight is too light you will get sway, that can be fixed by loading your trailer heavier in the front.

1) Are you sure about your trailer weights? 4400 pounds sounds light for a 26-footer. Also, what about balance? A trailer should be stable with NO weight distribution. Don't mask a pre-existing problem.

2) Have you adjust the friction-adjuster on your hitch head? If it's maxed out, and not enough sway control, I'd be worried you have a bigger problem than not enough hitch friction.
