Service in Whiteland IN?

Well, I should've known, my trip was going too smoothly. Coming up I-65, about 75 miles south of Indy, I went over a bridge that had the 5er bucking like a wild bronco. 50 miles further up the road, I check the side view mirror and see tons of smoke coming off one of the 5er tires. Got pulled over before it blew and was right at an exit ramp. Limped into the Flying J parking lot and discovered the U bolts were loose on the rear axle. It had slipped to one side and had the one tire rubbing against suspension parts.

I checked Next Exit and there's a Family RV Center just on the other side of the Interstate, no reviews in RV Service Reviews. Anyone have any input? I'll need the axle checked, maybe replaced and a new tire. Looking forward to a wonderful rainy night in the truck stop :R

    I have found Yelp.com to be the best place to get reviews on any service organization including repair shops. It surprised me after a bad experience with a local shop to find 5 bad reviews on Yelp. Prior to that experience I had only use Yelp to find restaurants while traveling.

    I think it is safe to generalize and say that independent repair shops as a rule do better work than national chains and tend to be more honest in dealing with their customers.

    Not all RV repairs require a "RV repair shop" with the loose U-bolts a case in point. Most garages can do this type of repair and for suspension fixes in particular I trust shops that do this type of work specifically to earn a living over a general purpose RV shop.

    Thanks for all responses. Family RV Center showed up this morning, took a quick look and immediately referred me to Whiteland Tire, just across the street from the Flying J. They had to send a mobile truck out to straighten the axle enough for me to drive across the street. Getting a new tire and new leaf spring now.

    That's OK. I haven't budged since last night. Waiting for the local RV place to open this morning to see what they can do for me.

    Sorry for leading you astray with Mt Comfort. I had it in my head you were on I70. Camping world is at exit 99 off I65.

    Fun Time Campers on the east side of Indy is very reputable 9702 Pendleton Pike Oaklandon, IN 46236 (317) 890-0791 and so is Mount Comfort RV's a little further east 5935 W 225 N Greenfield, IN 46140 (317) 898-6676. Sorry, I am not familiar with the dealer you mentioned.

    Mt Comfort is on I-70 east of Indy

    Camping World is about 5 miles north at Greenwood - exit 99 off I-65

    Good luck!

    We didn't miss you by much today, we came south on 65 a couple of hours ago coming home from a Heartland rally

    Mt Comfort RV is not far up the road towards Indy. They have a fairly large dealership and should be able to help you out.

    This spring in Louisville our friend had an issue and they called RV Mobile Services.


    I got a card and spoke to him a bit.He's a super guy
    You may be to far north but I would call him and If he cant help you he may have someone who can.
