Slide Topper on a Rear Slide

I wondered the same thing when we had our Jayco Jayfeather with the rear slide. We sold it before I did any real research on it though.

We have toppers on all four of our slides. They keep leaves and stuff off the top of the slide.

The tops of the slides stay fairly dry, but the sides of the slides still are wet when we close up in the rain. We just wipe down the sides when we bring them in.

EDIT: I just looked at your floor plan....how far does your bed slide out extend? Dometic slide toppers go up to 42". Other brands may be different.

Does a rear slide work differently than a normal slide? Or is it just a slide that's at the rear?

If it's a normal slide, there's no reason I can think of why a slide topper won't work.

I have never seen one on a rear bed slide, they are pretty long.

40" is the normal max projection. I believe most rear slides are deeper.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of that. Our rear slide is probably 60" long. It does function differently as well. Our side slide is gear actuated, but the rear one is cable actuated. I don't think that matters, but the depth surely does. Thanks again...

Pay attention to the slack in the cables- they need to be fairly well adjusted, and if they get frayed, replacement before they break is much easier than after.

Worth printing out and keeping.

Don't know why a topper could not be made for it. A topper is just an awning without arms and rolled out with the slide rather than the arms. Only thing I would think about is the wind flap.

They could, but the whole thing would have to be heavier, and the tube would need to be main awning diameter, just for the spring.
